StageCoach Theatre Company offers after school classes in the performing arts to students ages 5 – 19.
Classes are primarily held at StageCoach Theatre, 20937 Ashburn Road, Suite 240, Ashburn, VA 20147.
These are highly interACTive and fun classes taught by seasoned professionals who still work in the theatre industry. Hone your skills in improv, musical theatre, and acting. Strengthen your acting skills by participating in theatre production.

There is a $5.95 processing fee for each registration. This will automatically be added to your shopping cart at checkout. Prices given are for the full run of the class for the semester for dates shown.

Trial classes are available ONLY IF a class has already met its minimum number of students. Cost is $30 for a 1-hour trial class and $45 for a 1.5 hour trial class. Trial classes are not available for camps held during the school year.
We will allow late registration for most classes until mid-semester. If the REGISTER button is no longer active, just contact us to be given a new link.
Scholarships are available through the StageCoach Foundation.
After School Classes – Winter/Spring 2024
Monday 4:00pm Junior Musical Theatre (ages 5 - 8)
Join this class to learn to sing, act, and dance! Through games, exercises, and rehearsing for our final performance, this class will work on the attributes of singing, stage presence, and foundational dance technique, all while preparing a musical performance that will be presented at our class showcase.

Monday 5:00pm Youth Improv (ages 6 - 12)
The most fun an actor can have! Learn the basics of improvisational theatre. This class will help you with teamwork, spontaneity, and creativity. You’ll get to play some of the most fun and well-known improv comedy games. An actor that can improv a scene is fearless!

Monday 6:00pm Technical Theatre Workshop (ages 10+)
Join this class for a semester-long series of workshops exploring the primary components of stagecraft. Classes will be led by a rotating set of instructors who are area experts in technical theatre. Students will collaborate with the technical team of our spring musical to help bring their vision to life. Topics covered will include lighting, sound, set design, costumes, and props.

Tuesday 5:30pm Advanced Acting - by invitation or audition
By invitation or audition only.
This class will benefit students who are truly interested in improving their performance and/or becoming a professional actor. Students must either have extensive theater experience or prior approval from the instructor. Students will practice “cold reads,” auditions, Shakespeare, and ensemble acting. It will include peer critiques, scene work, and character acting (creating characters other than themselves) among like-minded and similarly-talented students.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00pm Mary Poppins Jr Show Team (ages 8 - 14)
Based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect Broadway Junior musical!
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

TECH REHEARSALS will be held April 22-25 and 29-May 2 from 5-7PM. All cast and crew members are called to all tech rehearsals.
PERFORMANCES will be May 4, 5, 11, 18, and 19 at 2PM and May 17 at 7PM. Actors are expected to arrive at the theater two hours prior to showtime.
TUITION: Mary Poppins Jr. is part of our educational theatre camp program. The cost to participate in the cast is $500. This covers all classes and rehearsals, two tickets to a performance of your choice, and participation in any special workshops or master classes offered during the rehearsal period.

Wednesday 5:00pm Teen Acting and Improv (ages 12+)
The more tools in the actor’s “bag of tricks”, the stronger the actor. This class starts with the basics tools including confidence, projection, articulation, body awareness, and concurring stage fright. Then we get into the “scalpels” of acting with mood-shifts, emotional intelligence, inflection, and follow-through. There will also be tips for script analysis, memorization, and creating a memorable character. Students can expect to work on both monologues and scene work in this class.
