In this quirky modern adventure\, Jean reconnects to her own spirit and learns that life is for the living.\n\nS arah Ruhl gained widespread recognition for her play The Clean House\, wh ich won the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in 2004 and was a Puli tzer Prize finalist in 2005. She sits in a room trying to be as small as possible\, but her character arc is tremendous and requires a skilled actor to execute the many levels. By the end\, she will find lo ve.\n\nGordon (M) LEAD Pre-Cast\n\nHermia (F) SUPPORTING Pre-Cast\n\nThe Other Woman / Stranger (F) SUPPORTING 25-45: Gordon’s mistress / inter national contact in South African airport- must be able to be both elegant (The Other Woman) AND mysterious (The Stranger) and be able to play each character differently.\n\nDwight (M) SUPPORTING 30+: Gordon’s brother w ho works at a stationary store and is totally enamored of interesting card stock. Awkward\, but kind. Tries to stand up to his mother regularly.  B ecomes Jean’s love interest\n\nMrs. Gottlieb (F) SUPPORTING 60+ (or abl e to play older): the family matriarch.
