 n\nDirected by Sarah Hardy\n\nAssistant Director: Ashley McGee\n\nThe acti
 on is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin\, Louisiana\, where all 
 the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by h
 er eager new assistant\, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is st
 ill married)\, the outspoken\, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and 
 free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon\, Ouiser\, (“I’m not crazy
 \, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years”)\; an eccentric milli
 onaire\, Miss Clairee\, who has a raging sweet tooth\; and the local socia
 l leader\, M’Lynn\, whose daughter\, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town)
 \, is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee 
 and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions\, the pla
 y moves toward tragedy when\, in the second act\, the spunky Shelby (who i
 s a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realizatio
 n of their mortality affects the others\, but also draws on the underlying
  strength—and love—which give the play\, and its characters\, the spec
 ial quality to make them truly touching\, funny and marvelously amiable co
 mpany in good times and bad.\n\nAuditions will be held at StageCoach Theat
 re\, 20937 Ashburn Road\, Suites 115 and 120\, Ashburn\, VA on\n\nFriday\,
  December 3 from 5:30 – 9:30pm\n\nSaturday\, December 4 from 1:00 – 4:
 00pm\n\nCallbacks\, if needed\, will be held on Sunday\, December 5 from 2
 :00 – 4:00pm. All those auditioning should be available for callbacks.\n
 \nThose wishing to audition should sign up for an audition slot here\, c
 omplete an audition form here\, and send their resume and headshot to 
 info@stagecoachtc.com with the subject line “Steel Magnolias – (your 
 name)”.\n\nAudition will consist of cold readings from the script (space
 d out in 15 minute intervals).\n\nA small stipend is paid per performance.
 \n\nSix performances will be held from March 12 – 27\, 2022 at StageCo
 ach Theatre in Ashburn\, VA. Rehearsals will be held there or at INMED Cen
 ter on Ridgetop Circle in Sterling. Readthrough of the script will be on D
 ecember 7. Rehearsals will be held Monday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday eveni
 ngs beginning December 9. Everyone cast will need to be at ALL performanc
 es and at ALL rehearsals during the two weeks prior to opening. \n\n&nbsp
