Billy Elliot is a coming-of-age story set in a Northern English mining town during the 1984-85 miners’ strike. Billy, an 11-year-old boy, initially struggles with his boxing lessons but is drawn to ballet after attending a class with Mrs. Wilkinson, a passionate and unconventional ballet teacher.
